Ars Musica Chicago has a history of substantial outreach programs which previously included a successful tenure with Chicago's renowned Gallery 37 Foundation for the Arts, for which we received praise from both the city of Chicago and the press.
Community Outreach
"At the heart of both productions were the yeoman efforts of the Gallery 37 Ars Musica Operatics Vocal Ensemble ..."
- Michael Cameron, CHICAGO TRIBUNE
"But what made this show special is the extraordinary chorus of 22 high school and other participants from the Gallery 37 Ars Musica
Vocal Operatics Ensemble....They have become one of the most focused ensembles I've seen in a long time....They put many a professional
ensemble to shame."
-
Andrew Patner, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
One of the Gallery 37 opera productions ARS MUSICA CHICAGO produced for the benefit of numerous young people.
Recently, in cooperation with the People’s Music School in Chicago, Ars Musica Chicago established an outreach program for
the students of the Uptown Community who attend the People’s Music School. We introduced their students to music created
before 1800. The first program was about the harpsichord and consisted of a lecture-demonstration, a mini-recital, and an opportunity
for students of the school to perform pieces of Bach and other Baroque composers on the harpsichord.
2010-11
24th season
