Opening Ears to Forgotten Beauty
2010–11
Welcome to the website of Ars Musica Chicago, providing Early Music concerts and educational outreach events for audiences and students in the Chicago area.

Ars Musica Chicago presents music from the Middle Ages through the early Classical Period. The music of these times was some of the most enticing and beautiful ever created, yet much of it is forgotten and rarely, if ever, performed.  With our goal of uncovering and performing many of these treasures, Ars Musica Chicago has become one of the country’s leading early music organizations.

With unique programming, visually and acoustically enticing venues, and world-class performers, we are sure you will enjoy our 2010–11 season.

Please join us for “Duelling Harpsichords,” a performance of French, German and Italian  music on the 3rd of April at 4:30 PM —

In this closing concert of our 2010-2011 season, Stephen Alltop of Northwestern University and Jason Moy of DePaul University perform keyboard music from the eighteenth century.  Playing a pair of double manual Franco-Flemish harpsichords, they will present delightful pieces for two harpsichords as well as solo numbers.  The duo pieces featured will be Pièces de clavecin en concert by Rameau, the Concerto for Two Harpsichords in C major, BWV 1061, by J. S. Bach, and the scintillating Fandango by Boccherini.
