Corelli: The Complete Opus 5 Sonatas, Part I

  • St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church 1424 North Dearborn Parkway Chicago, Illinois, 60610 (map)

Our season opens with the first of two concerts celebrating the works of the visionary Italian Baroque violinist and composer Arcangelo Corelli. Corelli’s Opus 5 sonatas were published in Rome on January 1, 1700, and came to profoundly influence violin playing and compositional styles in the 18th century and beyond. The brilliant Baroque violinist Amelia Sie will be joined by cellist Anna Steinhoff and harpsichordist Jason J. Moy in six of the twelve sonatas that make up this innovative and charming collection.

Free admission; no tickets are required, but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.
