The Indianapolis Early Music Festival presents acclaimed violin virtuoso Rachel Barton Pine with members of Ars Musica Chicago in this special program celebrating the music of the visionary Italian Baroque violinist and composer Arcangelo Corelli. Published on January 1, 1700, Corelli’s innovative Opus 5 sonatas profoundly influenced violin playing and compositional styles of the 18th century and beyond, leading some to call him the “father of the modern violin.” Pine will be joined by lutenist Brandon Acker, cellist Anna Steinhoff, and harpsichordist Jason J. Moy in iconic works from the Opus 5 set, including the famous “Follia” variations, alongside sonatas by Francesco Maria Veracini and Lorenzo Bocchi that bear Corelli’s unmistakable influence.

In celebration of its 60th anniversary season, all 2026 Indianapolis Early Music Festival concerts are “Pay What You Want,” with a $1 minimum per seat. Tickets are required and may be purchased here.

Ars Musica Chicago returns to St. James Cathedral this summer for another appearance on Classical Music Chicago’s acclaimed series of Rush Hour Concerts. Soprano Hannah de Priest, violinist Isabelle Seula Lee, cellist Ana Kim, lutenist Brandon Acker, and harpsichordist Jason Moy present an Italian-inspired program of Baroque works by Vivaldi, Handel, Dall’Abaco, and Stradella.
