Last year
in cooperation with the People’s Music School in Chicago, Ars Musica
Chicago established an outreach program for the students of the
Uptown Community who attend the People’s Music School.
We introduced their students to music before 1800. The first
program was about the harpsichord and consisted of a lecture-demonstration,
a mini-recital, and an opportunity for students of the school to perform
pieces of Bach on the harpsichord. This program took place onOctober 13th, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the People’s Music School, 931 West
Eastwood Avenue, Chicago. For information on the People's Music School,

The
second program was similar and was an Introduction to the organ (specifically
the pipe organ). The same components were included and
consisted of a demonstration of the organ, a mini-recital, and an
opportunity for students to play pieces with which they are familiar.
This program took place on March 29th, 2008 at 2:00 PM.
